can't go back into recovery for new ROM

so i have thunderROM installed on my phone but wanted to load the new CGen7 ROM on my Optimus S. I had an icon that was used to reboot into recovery mode...did that and wiped all data as instructed..but I accidentally had the new ROM .zip in the download folders and not on the root of my SDcard. Rebooted and it was like a brand new thunder ROM. Had to go into the market and install a file explorer to move the .zip to the root of the SD card. But now I no longer have the reboot icon to get into recovery...

how can i get the reboot icon back, or how can i manually get into recover using the buttons on the front of the phone at startup???

Yes, power off.

Then press home, volume down, and power button at the same time.

thanks for the info but I actually got it by downloading android terminal emulator and typing SU then Reboot recovery...
