I'm thinking thats where the SIM card would be if this phone were GSM.

Actually it *might* be another microSD, there *are* actually references to a second SD slot in the kernel.

That little spot IS your micro SD card slot. Turn the phone sideways to see

Now the place above that with the screw, hmmm

I say do it anyway, I know a certain blogger (looks at jerry hildenbrand) who has yet to own a device he didn't take apart. Some people love looking at the internal workings. Hell, snap some pix if you do it and let everyone share in the geek porn

Please be careful. Not only does this void the warranty but minor mistakes like a static discharge on the circuit board could render the phone useless.

IIRC the second SD slot references are because the driver they are using supports dual SD, does not mean there is a header to solder another one :P

I was actually going to post up something just like this when i saw your thread.....
Ive been wondering if anyone with any smartphone has been able to replace the camera with a higher quality one?? Has anyone transplanted a higher megapixel cam on an android and got it to work?

Even if you were able to do that, you would need to write a new driver and compile a new kernel for it. It could be possible though if you took a camera from a phone using the same ARMv6 architecture though... but it would be difficult.
