Trouble streaming 3gp (perhaps others?)

I am brand new coming from the samsung moment which was only 2.1. I used to stream 3gp video from mycast.orb.com on the old phone, few problems. Now with the optimus, can't get anything to stream. I also tried the mp4 in the thread "trouble streaming mp4's" here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=52932 and that wouldn't play either.

I tried both with stagefright on and off, neither worked. Links to other pages with suggestions or just advice in general would be great.

Crackle's app streams video, not that it's 3gp, but it works if it matters.

so mycast won't stream but crackle will? could be a compatibility issue with the lg but i'm not sure. have you tried via wifi and 3g?

Yes, tried with both. I'm trying with another site right now for 3gp to see if it plays at all, maybe it is a compatibility thing.

Ok, so I am having trouble finding anything else that streams 3gp, all i could find was Free 3gp Video and they don't stream. have to download first, but they DO play. do you have any suggestions of what I could try?

i don't unfortunitally.

i'm not a big streaming media guy so my knowledge is limited.

if your downloading and playing them it's not really streaming lol.

hopefully someone can chime in with mroe experience in streaming media on our device.

Thanks. and yes, I do get that it isn't streaming. was trying to point out that 3gp at least plays. Just hoping I can stream my media from home again. Thanks for trying.

3gp 3g2 and mp4 should all play. i play all 3 on my device.

Thats what I thought, but I can't from the source I'm used to streaming from, do you have any sites I can test with to make sure it isn't my phone or the site I try streaming from?

lol that i have no clue. as i said, i'm not be into streaming so hopefully someone else who is can chime in.

Wow I'm a little slow, I didnt realize you weren't someone new. I wasn't paying attention. still kinda messing around with getting something to stream.

Ok, restoring my nandroid from before i flashed thunder rom fixed my streaming issue... No it's baby-stepping back to the setup I had before to narrow down why it stopped working.

Ok, 1) sorry for wasting time. And 2) starting over fixed it. Since this was no real problem to trouble shoot and since it was just starting over to fix it how about we delete this thread?

well are you back to the setup previous? ie. thunderom installed and whatever you had before when it stopped working? or are you back to stock and have it working?
