How can I get Viper4Android to work on LG P769 wired headphones?

I've installed Viper4Android version 2.3.4.0(FX). I believe it installs the compatible driver on its own. It works fine on my bluetooth headphones but when I plug in my wired headphones I get no effect changes. I check the driver status when the bluetooth headphones are connected and the settings are as follow:

Driver Version: 2.3.4.0
NEON Enabled: Yes
Enabled:Yes
Audio Format: Supported
Processing: Yes
Sampling: Rate: 44100

I get the following when the wired headphones are plugged in:

Driver Version: 2.3.4.0
NEON Enabled: Yes
Enabled:Yes
Audio Format: Supported
Processing: No
Sampling: Rate: 44100

I've tried the three different driver settings as well as the Compatible Mode. I moved the apk from /data/app to /system/app because I read on another forum that this solved a similar problem for this person but I still can't get the wired headphones to work with this app. I would really like to get this solved, the sound is awsome on the bluetooth headset! My phone is rooted but the rom is stock LG P76920h. The only things I've installed are BusyBox and Exposed Framework with a few modules.

I have EXACTLY the same issue (Alcatel IDOL 3 - Android 5.0) and would love to know how to get it fixed.

It happens with any wired headphones. Just works for bluetooth.
