[AC Question]

I got a lg - vs415BPP from someone and it wouldn't go past the first lg life's good screen. I did a factory reset and it still won't boot. The light on the middle button flashes different colors, but the screen is black

It sounds like you might have a problem with your OS. I would follow the steps in this thread. Boot into download mode and use ADB to flash the stock factory image again.

Ok, thank you for the help, could you possibly explain some of the process to me? I've never has to hook my phone to a computer before so I'm sitting here stumped a little.
