    Hello all,

I'm new to rooting (and Android in general)!
As far as I know, ROMs are 'images' for an Android device, containing an OS.
Now, my question is - does a phone have to be rooted in order to get the ROM onto the phone?
I have an LG Revolution running 2.2.2 Froyo, and I'm interested in rooted ROMs for it.
Could someone provide a basic primer for ROMs?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes you need to be rooted and you need ClockworkMod installed as well. Here's a couple of threads that should get you started in the right direction.

    Rooting:

    LG Revo

    Gingervolt ROM:

    Gingervolt 2.0

Make sure you upgrade your phone to VS910ZV7 first.
