... Compared with the V10

32 & 64 gb internal storage
3 & 4 gb ram
External SD card
Fast & efficient Kirin 950 processor
4000 milliamp battery?
6 inches single display screen

Still not bought the V10 yet, and the Mate 8 looks like a good alternative.

Not a big fan of Huawei that's is why I am staying away from the nexus 6p. But in terms of features the V10 rocks it doesn't slow down the 4 gigs of ram is great and 64 gigs of internal storage is great. Also if you get it with the new promo you will get an extra battery with charging cradle and 64gig SD card.

What country are you from because it doesn't look you can easily get it in the US. Just looked.. Also need to make sure it will work with your carrier. Other than that it does look like a good phone.

Specs for the most part look pretty good. Not sure I'd go to a 6" phone. And the fact that it's only 1080p is a little disappointing.

Below are the dimensions of the 2 phones
Mate 8: 157.1 x 80.6 x 7.9 mm (6.19 x 3.17 x 0.31 in)
V10: 159.6 x 79.3 x 8.6 mm (6.28 x 3.12 x 0.34 in)

So the Mate 8 with it's 6 inches screen is not bigger than the V10

Not bad. I guess it would come down to price. Early reports are suggesting $600 in the US. No way I would pay the same money for an inferior screen.

It does look like a nice phone though.

For me, it will depend on the quality of the camera. Otherwise I will not consider it.

The Mate 8 is a great looking device and the Kirin 950 is seriously intriguing. However, all signs point to Far East only right now; you can grab one on EBay. Good luck getting LTE to work in the US. Be sure to read about how awful Huawei's UI is, just run through AC's device reviews of Huawei phones over the last year and a half.

For me the 1080p screen is the opposite of disappointing, I'm glad they stuck to that resolution. I had the P8Max and even over 6.8 inches 1080p is still fine. I just hope the other display characteristics are good. Anyways, I'll know soon enough, my Mate 8 should arrive next week.

I'm always on the lookout for 6+ inch phones. Had the xperia z ultra and that was probably my favorite phone ever(minus the camera) after the v10

1080p on the 6.4 inch display was great.
