This is a flagship phone (until the V20 is released). Why would there even be a question about updating to the latest OS? It's a great phone! I'm sure it would be even better with the features of Nougat are added. So why would there even be any hesitation? They're saying they may leave it up to the carriers. Are you kidding me?! Are they forcing us to spend more money on the V20 just to sell us a new phone? Then what would guarantee that the V20 would receive Android 8 in the future? I don't know about the rest of you, but I refuse to have to buy a new phone every year just to get the latest OS. Am I pissed? You could say that. And so should all the other V10 users. LG, you've not only dropped the ball, you've deflated it.
You hit the nail with an issue with Android and it's hardware partners. You are only guaranteed updates with Nexus phones and that is for 2 years (I believe). I've been through many updates (mainly with Motorola) and most of time I replace the phone shortly after 2 years of ownership. If we do get N, it won't be till next spring if we are lucky. By then, I'm only a couple months out before I start looking for my replacement.
