A writer's thing happened today. I'm with my family are a restaurant and all of a sudden we hear this high pitched ear-piercing beep. It just keeps going and doesn't stop. After about a minute or two we realize that it's coming from my v20. The only way I got it to stop is to reset my phone.

Has anyone else had this problem?
I got this phone from Verizon.

Was it an emergency alert or an Amber alert?

That sounds like it was a theft alarm that somehow got tripped. Do/did you have a security app installed, like Avast Anti-theft, Green Power, etc.? If so, something triggered the alarm.

Wouldn't the phone have a pop up indicating what it is

If the phone was completely unresponsive I would say it froze or something of that nature.

It would depend on the app. Some apps might have a message on the screen, but maybe not. The message would only warn the theif.

Nothing popped up.

It almost seemed like someone remotely activated find my droid or something.

It worked like normal. It was responsive just had a crazy noise.

I'm not sure. But if it worked normally, except for the loud beep, I have no idea what it could have been. Has it happened again?
