I am experiencing a very annoying issue with my LG V20 (that also existed in my old LG K10 and I couldn't solve it there wither).

Whenever I get a notification, from any app, my screen turns on. This is utterly annoying. I want to get a notification, but I want my screen to stay off.
I've read through countless forums and settings and cannot find the option to disable this!

    Help, anyone?

    Thank you!!

I've never seen that happen other than for incoming calls, and i didn't see any options for it in the ability or developer menus.

Is it with every notification, or just with certain apps? If it's only certain apps, I'd check the options for those to see if they are designed for it. If it's all notifications turning the screen on, i don't have a clue.

My Asus Zenphone 2 would do that. It was frustrating to say the least! Not sure if my V20 does it. I'll let you all know when I go biking again.

specific apps like Snapchat & textra have options to turn off the screen wakeup, but you won't find a setting for it in the actual device settings. you just have to hunt through the notification settings in each affected app to see if it's a possibility. hope this helps.
