I lost my lg v20 and after i reported it to t mobile, they blocked it. But after several days someone found it and returned it to me. I called t mobile and they said that once it was blocked there was nothing they could do to unblock it again... Is there something i could to activate and unblock it??

I don't know this for fact, but I seem to remember hearing that as well. Once a phone has been reported lost/stolen and black listed, there's nothing you can do to reverse it.

That makes no sense. Go directly to their store with the phone and proof your the owner. If they can put a block on it they can unblock it. If they say it cannot be done make a big stink in front of their customers. Be sure the place has customers looking to sign up and use a loud voice.

That's more likely to make you look a fool and get you escorted out of the store than anything. I doubt it'll even phase other customers.

But if you don't have any luck I will take it off your hands and turn it into a video player for the movies I pull off the internet and stream to my tv via a Chromecast. Doing that now with an older Samsung Note edge.

Did you talk to the people in the store or on the phone? I don't think the retail store people can do anything, you'll have to call their customer service. If you did call customer service and said you can't do anything about it, then I guess it's permanently blacklisted.

The employees at the store does not have access to that, you'll have to call customer service. The employees only activates and sells phones.

Unless you know a specialist that can hack or flash the phone... or you can swap out the motherboard from a used or broken V20, probably not that hard to do especially since the V20 is the easiest phone to open up thanks to the removable back. Check eBay or Swappa Boneyard for parts.

I'm not sure what "blocked" means. I've lost phones and simply disconnected service and activated a different phone. When I found my phone I reversed the process. And that's through Verizon - - the arch enemy of all that is good.

If you simply disconnect service, that's not actually reporting it lost/stolen. Having it blocked means you lost possession of the phone with no expectation of getting it back (such as being stolen), and the carrier will blacklist it so anyone that finds it would not be able to use it as a phone again. That info is kept in a central database that most carriers subscribe to, so you couldn't even get around the block by going to another carrier.

Normally you should be able to have your carrier unblock it if you take it to a company store with proof of ownership. It appears T-Mobile has a different policy. I will stick with my Verizon account because their customer service is great. You get what you pay for.
