I just got a new V20 a couple weeks ago. Love it so far, but I can't figure out how to get new text messages to vibrate when they come in.
When I go to the notifications and select the "MESSANGER". The option to turn on vibrate is disabled.

I have looked all through my system settings and I cant figure out what I am missing.

I captured a screen shot of what i am seeing, so hopefully I can post here.

Thanks.

P.s. I have vibrate turned on for other notifications and it does work when I get a new email.... So yes the vibrate motor does work.

Android Version : 8.0.0
Software version: H9102g

Welcome to Android Central! Are you able to turn it to Vibrate Only by turning the volume all the way down? Just want to make sure the Messaging app will allow any kind of vibration.

B. Diddy,
Yes, If I turn the volume all the way down, the phone then vibrates when a new text message comes in. I would like to have vibrate AND sound when a new text arrives.

Thanks

Does it vibrate and ring when you receive a call? If not, see what happens if you go to the Settings>Sound menu and turn on the option to Also Vibrate for Calls (if available).

For the screenshot you shared, are you accessing that from the Settings>Notifications menu, or the Settings>Apps menu?

Hmm, not much to do there. And it looks the same if you approach it from the Settings>Apps menu first? That is, select the Messaging app in the Settings>Apps list, then tap Notifications there?

Right. I could not get to the settings that way to turn on the vibrate.
I kept looking and finally found where to get into it. It is in the settings inside the app. This is accessed by going to the three vertical dots.

I am now able to get a vibrate and sound when a new message comes in.
