What, another problem that isn't there?

Based on the title of this thread, screen burn-in is one of the problems the Pixel 2 LX has?

Amoled screens will have burnins when displaying a static image for a very prolonged time. This is nothing new. Inherent to the amoled technology. This is not an issie im day to day usage though.

It shouldn't be a problem if the Pixel was like a year old. But on a 7 day old pixel, it's a different story.

The issue as described by Alex Dobie is not "normal" and a real problem for the Pixel 2 XL. The question is since it's (in theory) the same panel on the V30, does the problem exist there too?

Haven't heard of any burn-in on the V30 (on Reddit, XDA and here), so I'm pretty optimistic.

Hide the nav bar and it will not be a problem. The Pixel 2 XL does not have that feature.

i've been by 3 tmobile stores and at all 3, the lg v30 have screen burn in. you could read the text from their demo program. is this just because they have the phones at full brightness all day?

They could have easily had the defective units out on display. The first few batches had a couple of bad apples which could be returned for exchanges. You also have a lovely 2 year warranty if you notice anything unusual.

I see burn in at most stores even on Samsung's. They are on all day and that will happen with an oled panel. In normal every day use, I doubt there should be a problem
