I bought this screen protector and so far am happy with it. Went on easily with no bubbles. Edges are adhering well.

I believe in screen protectors. When the screen cracked on my old Note 4 the screen protector held it together and made the screen usable for many months...no glass shards to catch my finger on.

i do not use a screen protector, and mine has held up just fine. I have owned the phone since the week it came to carrier stores. i have dropped once but it fell flat on it's back and I use a case so it had no damage I could see.

I am using the Pure Gear tempered glass screen protector for my V30. It has been on for a month with no problems other than the "rainbow" effect on the screen. That went away after awhile. My wife dropped her phone and the Pure Gear screen protector shattered and popped off but no damage to her screen and it was only $6 for a replacement with their warranty.

As with every new phone that comes out, this same question is asked once again. And the answer remains simple. If you are ok with scratches, don't get a screen protector. Some will insist that they never get a screen protector and they don't ever get scratches. To them I say just look real close under bright light.

No screenprotector atm. Actually I never used them, but on former phones I used a case with a lid (i.e. flip style case).
Got my V30 for a few weeks now and just have a silicone backcover on. Screen still fine (knocks on wood).

My situation is like @Buddy1969 's.

I bought a flip case for my Windows Phone as a compromise between function and form and loved it and so when I bought my v30, I immediately bought myself another one (different brand) and haven't looked back since!

I'm a big fan of cases (especially crystal clear ones), but not so much a fan of screen protectors - not even for my Nintendo handhelds.

I know the sticky residue days and easy mis-positioning days are mostly over, but I just don't like the feel and I have a light touch besides and so that's why screen protectors are a bit of a function-related issue for me.

I actually see some minor scuffing as part and parcel of using things like mobile phones which are all but necessities nowadays. Obviously, completely unscathed is preferred, but I'm good with some minor shows of wear, too, because I see it as natural.

That said, my v30 in its flip case (I love it) hasn't taken any facedown falls and hasn't been accidentally subjected to any onscreen jabs or pokes or rough rubs and is still looking clear of scuffing under LED and fluorescent lighting.

Related to the discussion about future reselling (which I have nothing against), I'm something of a collector and I use the 'Like New' description header very sparingly when selling unless it's something very obvious.

I figure that if it's been used at any point of time besides for just a moment (like unboxing and then immediately returning it back into the box), it doesn't qualify any more for 'Like New' and instead, I tag with 'Very Gently' or 'Gently' 'Used' and then use a lot of photos and describe its use.

When I shop, I also don't hesitate to shop from people who tag like I do so there's that, too.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I understand your point: when it's in a flip case, it's still pretty well protected. It's not like the front glass will scrape against anything! Flip cases do look pretty nice!

I work in an open office environment where it's easy for co-workers to glance on over for a quick chit chat about work and otherwise so the flip case is also a good way to keep my phone off and out of the way. Not that I keep anything inappropriate on this phone, but personal things are personal so with the flip case, there's little to no accidental peeking or showing!

I definitely understand what you are saying! I too dislike people looking at what's on my phone. I compare it to my purse: it's just a privacy thing. It's not as if you have things to hide; but at the same time, you are guarding your privacy. I'll hand my phone over to my mom, brother, or boyfriend readily - but with strangers or not close friends, you don't want them having that luxury.
