Seems like other manufactures are trying to cash in on the premium audio player market. The HiBy R6 features a dual DAC and Snapdragon 425, called "the most advanced Android HiFi player". Does anyone not know about the V20 & V30 with the quad DAC? Would you get it? What are your thoughts?

The DAC chipsets on the V20 & V30 are certainly much better. The HiBy R6 is more catered towards an all around audio experience on Android with their Direct Transport Audio architecture (DTA) which supports bit-perfect non-resampling output from all apps. LG's V series has something similar to bypass the resampling & it's usually with the Stock Music App. Some of the big name players can also bypass the resampling or SRC including the HibyMusic App.

When you the compare the two you also have to consider the price point for value. At around $500, the R6 is just DAP...if you add a few more hundred dollars you could get fully advanced phone + DAP with the V30 or even the V20 at the same price or even less.

USB Audio Player Pro is now being updated to include full support for the LG V30 internal quad-dac including bitperfect support and Hires Tidal MQA support. This makes the case for the V30 even stronger..

You must remember that this is a music player only not a smartphone. There are many people, like iPhone addicts for example, that must carry 2 devices with them in order to enjoy hifi, high res music. As LG fans, we don't have to. By the way, did you know that the dac in the V30 is the highest quality quad dac currently? Before I had the V30, I had a galaxy S7 edge. I also had an onkyo dp x1 music player I had to carry around. With the purchase of my V30, the onky was no longer needed as the V30 music quality was on an equallibriam with the onkyo.

I just looked at usb audio player pro in the playstore. But I'm a little confused. Is this a standard music player that you just download and use like other players? It seems like it must be connected to another device like an external headphone amp. Can you shed some light? Thanks.

One of the biggest reasons I chose the v30+ was because of exactly this.

My main portable music player before my v30 was a minidisc player + recorder (analog to digital, ATRAC) and I was carting around multiple devices along with multiple discs on a regular basis to satisfy my needs.

I thought to downsize my MD to something more portable that didn't need discs, but I already owned an iPod Touch 5th Gen that was gifted to me (primarily for music) and reputable DACs are pricey and so I could never justify getting one.

And then came the v30 with its DAC and combined with the fact that I needed a new phone, no ifs ands or buts, it was / is the clear winner.

A marvel of a phone combined with a sweet, sweet DAC player? Ohhh yes!

I needed another pair of earphones and figured the double amount of storage would be worth it and so I dropped the extra bit of cash for the + version.

$850 is a lot for a phone even when cashing in on a deal but when I think about spending upwards of $100-$200 minimum for a reputable portable and expandable memory DAC player, I realize that I'm actually getting a deal because the price is for TWO devices and not just one.

I'm glad I never managed to buy a DAC before I bought my v30 and I'm also glad I didn't settle for the no-DAC G6 which I otherwise liked.

I think for 99% if users LG V30 and Poweramp (or stock app) is fine for flac and mp3 playpack. I've read most of the audiophile comments in this V30 discussion section and the huge fail is no comparison tests using human ears, and certainly no blind sound tests.

I love the V30 and the quad DAC is perhaps the most important feature if I had to choose one. Instead of making things more complicated unessesarily, I'm happy with the V30, properly encoded audio which includes, gasp...V0 MP3's! I have a half dozen earphones and headphones in rotation used for listening used with the V30. Just my 2 cents.
