Well, I still miss the Samsung screen, though the v30 is gorgeous.

I chose the v30 because neither the S8 or Note8 appealed to me.

I knew the quad DAC, as a music lover, would be the biggest item on the checklist, and yes it is amazing. With the quad DAC even YouTube sounds like I'm in a movie cinema. And, as for music, I no longer need to physically tether (rubber bands) an unwieldy expensive external amp DAC to my phone to get dynamic, full punchy sound with loads of information in each second of the track.

What has surprised me though is the battery. It's amazing on the v30+

I purchased two wireless charging pads a year or so ago for my S6 Edge device, but they charge slow. And since the S6 Edge was eating up battery a bit quickly I didn't have time to wait for the wireless charging pad to recharge the phone to over 50%, so I forgot about the wireless charging pad, even though it was so nice of a concept.

Then when I got the V30+ I decided to try it and noticed I hadn't even used much battery so the wireless charging pad was just needed to refill a little bit like from 80% to as much as I could get from it before having to go somewhere.

It's great. I finally can use the wireless charging pad (from Belkin) like I always hoped to.

I've never even seen the phone below 67%. It took so long to for the battery to drain substantially (using the slow wireless charging pad occasionally) that I didn't even use the fast charger that came with it for the first few days I had the phone, other than the initial charge to boot up the device upon receiving it.

At work I don't use it much but it's nice to see that it takes way two hours for it to go down From 100 to 98%. When I get home after an 11 hour day of light phone use it's still just over 80%.

Samsung phones have great features and an unbeatable screen quality imo, but the quad DAC and strong battery ( best I've seen on any phone) on the LGV30 are two items that make this a serious option for anyone who loves top level phones and wants to look outside of Samsung and IPhone.

I noticed that too, the V30+ battery is amazing. I think that even with a heavy use, it can last a whole day.

Wireless charging is nice also. It keeps the battery topped up & no more jacks to plug into the micro usb port.

Ye. It's probably because I'm.so used to Samsung phones and having to baby sit the battery on them that it still.surprises me to look at my phone and the battery percentage is.exactly the same.as it was half an hour ago.

To.be fair i don't use always on display, thanks to.a other great feature I am liking g on the v30 which is double tap to open phone.

I agree. Coming from the S7 Edge the audio quality in not just music, but even Skype was much better. The clarity, the loudness... I love it. Really glad I picked this device up. The battery is also very impressive, particularly when the phone is idle. But I find with more extensive use, the battery seems better than what I got on my S7 Edge.

I know, I had an S7 Edge, and it was schizophrenic with the battery. Some days it would just sip the battery, but more often than not there would be high battery drain when the phone sat idle. It was not odd to pick up the phone and see that it had drained 5% in an hour doing nothing. I turned off everything I could, but I usually had to restart weekly to get the battery back in line.

Yup, me too with the S6 Edge. Those edge phones are fantastic aside from battery drain. I used to have my edge panel placed on the lower right side near my thumb. So I was always just a swipe away from settings. And opening settings Device Maintenance was also right next to my thumb because is was low down on the list of settings. Soni was constantly running the Boost Device feature, like 20 times per day.

With the v30+ I literally don't even have to think about battery anymore for the most part.

Sorry for double post. I forgot to ask if it's possible to use dual audio with the BT 5.0 on the V30.

I was really looking forward to connecting two speakers which is something I saw MKBHD do on YouTube with a Note 8 phone.

Lol found the answer, which is no. At least not yet. Did read that maybe when there is an update available to Android 8.0.

When I put in my order for my v30+, I was reminded by both friends and family to buy a power bank as well.

Given that I bought my cases in advance, it would have been logical to buy the power bank at the same time as well. I almost did, but I decided to wait because I've never bought one before and wanted to see about recommendations.

... And up to now, I've been waiting, still.

I've been waiting because I haven't really needed it so far.

In the States as my daily driver, it's been worry-free in terms of battery life.

But what impressed me is that my v30+ survived 23+ hours of trans-Atlantic traveling including airports, planes, necessary mass transit above and below ground, and wandering around on foot while lost.

I was using Google Maps and had conflicting reception and GPS, was roaming, and was doing / using phone calls, SMS, Skype, web browsing, go go in-flight, Pokémon GO, picture-taking and hours of offline gaming, video watching, music listening, and document editing.

Later, while across the ocean and roaming, my phone easily lasted a day with GPS always on and while constantly taking pictures and even some short videos.

I have a Windows Phone whose battery life sets a high bar, but I have to say that I am both relieved and impressed with my v30+ battery life.

Edit: I forgot to mention that these results were achieved without using Battery Saver. Battery Saver can add another 25% and Maximum settings can easily give me more than double the battery life.
