"LG says Oreo will roll out for the G6 & V30 the second week of March."

Got this from a FreedomMobile forum, Canada though. Closest timeline that I could find anywhere around.

That news is better than none, I was wondering! I loved how fast my pixel updated, but I love my V30 so much more!

The international version of the LG V30 has yet to receive the update, but from the looks of it the US version might get latest Android version before it. Lets hope that the testing goes smoothly and we see the final version roll out soon.

I wouldn't expect it anytime soon, especially since Samsung pulled back their rollout due to freezing issues. If LG is smart, they will triple check that it works before pushing it out. I'd guess early April. Just an educated guess though.

I agree with you. Triple check and be sure.

Coming from the Nexus 6P, where I got Oreo last year, I would really wish LG would keep their launcher (and whatever else add on crap) closer to stock, so that updates can be brought to us quicker.
This is a great phone. It's sad that their marketing and update strategies are so flawed...

Georgia, Verizon, got it earlier. Turned on haptic feedback and a few other settings I had turned off.

More concerning is that two apps (older GCam and Reddit Is Fun) have froze and caused a reboot of the phone. Hope they are isolated incidents.

if anyone figures out anything exciting or cool with the update, that wasn't there before , hope we can all share. I'm sure it's a lot more steady now, maybe a little faster, but was hoping to be "wowed" a little. totally bummed we didn't even get the AI camera upgrade.

The AI upgrade is coming eventually, I saw an article I couldn't hunt down that said LG had released it for some V30's out there already.

I am liking the new granular notifications dismissal so far.

Apparently Korean V30 models got the AI update with the Oreo update.

So for those who have got Oreo on the V30 how is it? Are there any improvements or anything worse?

I am wondering if they will ever get around to changing the horror show that is the settings menu.

I did sell my V30 but after being massively underwhelmed by the S9+ I am considering getting one again.

I'll be honest, I can't tell a difference at all. That's not to say that it's a bad thing, but the usual suspects that usually need improving (battery life, phone freezing, etc) never gave me any issues prior so it's hard to tell if they are improved. The one wish I had was better camera software, but since the only photo issue I had was partially blurry parts of a photo, I haven't been able to really test/tell if it's gotten any better.

It's fine. The settings menu was streamlined a bit, but still not the most intuitive to navigate.

I have run into app freezes causing reboots. Happened twice within two hours of updating last week (once using old GCam build, once with Reddit Is Fun). Then happened once yesterday after I left a new GCam build open after taking a photo. I will chalk that one up to GCam instability.
