I am considering this phone as the price dropped once the V40 was announced but every review I read always talks about how the display has issues so I want to know from owners how bad it is and whether it is a deal breaker

I had a V30, and the screen was perfectly fine. It's not Samsung level, but it was good.

I think it's good. I guess put up next to the Samsung displays it's not as good but day to day you won't have any complaints.

I've had no burn-in or anything either.

I love mine and think the display is fantastic. I'm not a display aficionado, but I can tell you it looks better than my wife's iPhone.

This is actually my first OLED phone and I'm completely happy with it. Wouldn't want to go back to lcd at this point.

    The screen is great!
Were the reviews you saw dealing with pre-release examples?

I love mine, see no reason to upgrade my phone for years to be honest with you. Great phone, great camera, and the display is as I expect it to be.

I am super happy with the display on my V30. I have calibrated it (close) to D65 standard. Here's how https://www.google.ca/amp/s/forum.xd...-t3695617/amp/
