Hidden, it's optional. It's called "new second screen". Good thing it's an LCD so you can have the notch display icons and notifications without burn in. I bet you $100 the AMOLED notch phones will get burned in so badly cause' of the static notifications and icons (iPhone has a disclaimer for it).

Removable/sealed battery doesn't impact anything that has to do with underwater photos. There are zero phones that are "safe" to use underwater, including for taking photos. Water resistance can be done in conjunction with removable battery, which has been done by Samsung. But the water resistance, regardless of the type of back, does not test or certify for any scenario which would involve the device being used while wet, let alone submerged and moving.
I've had and seen waterproof phones fail.. the Galaxy S7 Active had a defect and people's phones were getting water damaged. Samsung actually does NOT advertise using the phone underwater (anymore) because they keep getting slammed for false claims. Salt walter and chlorine water will damage the phone's parts, corrode the metal parts. Your best bet is a sealed waterproof bag, much more reliable and protects the phone completely, while still allowing photos to be taken. The waterproof feature is for rainy weather and accidental spills. I wouldn't trust a $900 phone near water even if it is IP68 rated, maybe splashes are OK.

Yea me too it is a great phone I haven't found any compromises with it so far, from sound to cameras they fixed, to OLED screen, to feel in hand, to a great microphone system, they finally nailed it...albeit a bit too late because they're marketing sucks. Parked my s9+ I feel the v35 is a much better phone (aka no Bixby or bloat) they won't sell any but at least they finally built a good phone.

Agree with everything you said - I said goodbye to my V30 today at the AT&T Corporate Store and got a $400 account credit that AT&T offered for buying the V35

I am curious if anyone else with the V35 has had this issue. I bought mine yesterday from AT&T, and this morning it turned off and started restarting itself every 5 or so minutes. It also kept switching between having signal and no signal every couple minutes
Less than 24 hours owning the phone and I exchanged for a new one. I've had the new one for 5 hours now but it randomly restarted once. I'm afraid it is going to start bootlooping again.

Are you saying that the 2nd V35 you now have is randomly restarting? Wow, that's not a good sign. I was holding off on possibly upgrading to the V35 until I read some real user reviews, so this will make me reconsider upgrading.

I was at the ATT store yesterday getting a cheap Android phone to use as a temp phone while my LG G6 is sent off to the LG factory for repair (USB Port moisture issue) and I saw the V35 on display. It really looked like a Samsung S9 in appearance and feel. I'm not so keen on the curved edges of the screen, but the OLED screen looked very sharp and clear. Much different than my G6's LCD screen, so I'm not sure if I like the OLED better yet. I was thinking of upgrading to the G7 but ATT doesn't offer it, so next was the V35. Although now I'm a bit soured on the idea of upgrading to the V35 after having the false USB Port moisture problem with my G6.

I have had my V35 since Friday and have had no rebooting/bootlooping issues at all

I might just be severely unlucky. My second one start bootlooping this morning, then it stopped, now it won't get signal.
For the second V35 I got yesterday, I didn't make any changes, I just kept the phone as it is when you first turn it on to see what would happen, and it still does it. I'm just going to return it and move on. This was my first (and last) foray into LG phones

Let me know if you find a case (a real case not a V30 case) that fits the rear camera correctly on the V35. So far I have bought 2 off of Amazon that were marked V30/V30s and they both did not fit the rear camera correctly although would work

I usually don't. Instead of risking over-charging it, keeping it plugged for an additional 6 hours that I don't need while asleep, I just rely on short charges throughout the day and night during commutes in the car.

I never come close to running out of battery and once in a while, a couple times per week I plug it into the wall and give it a full charge.

Not too sure you can overcharge a phone nowadays...

Picked up the V35 yeterday. Screen is freaking amazing. Screen is barely curved, so slight that a glass screen protector works good. I am really digging it so far. But the price is too damn high..

I agree the screen is way better than my V30, which I thought was a major weak spot on an otherwise great phone. AT&T was offering $400 credit for an eligible phone so I traded in my V30 for the $400 account credit and they also gave me a $30 credit for the upgrade fee, which helps to lessen the bite of the $899 plus tax

How is the battery life so far? As well as how is it compared to the v30 for those that have had that?

I just sold my V30 because I wasn't even able to get full bars at home on Wi-Fi. That, coupled with LG's terrible theme store was enough to make me part with it, despite loving the fantastic quad DAC and the battery life. I honestly don't know wtf LG is doing. They released the V30S, which is just a V30 with a software update, now they release the V35. A couple months from now they'll release the V40. What will differentiate the V40 from the V35, which already has the latest processor and upgraded RAM? They make no sense, whatsoever.
Actually the V30S has 6gb of ram where the V30 only has 4

So far no issues with battery life, but I would not be deemed a "heavy user" I only listen to music for about an hour a day at the gym, no gaming and my V35 is used mostly for email replies when out of the office, text messaging and some light internet use.

Screen is that good? I ask because when i looked at the v30 a year ago in a store it looked very grainy compared to the s8, and i really want the v35 and hoping it looks pretty much on par with s8/9 and not grainy.

Screen is much better on the V35 vs. the V30, which I thought was the only weak spot on an otherwise great phone

Well, my gf had iPhone 6s, and started having battery issues. Would go from 96% to 40% in minutes. She would plug it back in and while plugged in it would say 70%.

Her screen was raised up from the phone on one side. Sprint told her the iPhone 6s has had battery issues and overcharging that phone will ruin the battery. Something did ruin the battery. I've left all of my phones, never had Apple, plugged in overnight plenty of times with no issues.
