I just wanted to see if people love this phone cause I don’t want to go on a salesman’s recommendation. Does anyone have problems with it? Is it better than note 8, etc..

It's subjective really. Note 8 has the S Pen and software that I prefer so it would be the clear choice for me. The V40 is a generation newer so it's got the better SOC. V40 also has a flat screen, more versatile camera set up(wide, normal, telephoto), better manual video controls and better audio quality.

Note 9 would make for a better comparison as it's the phone meant to compete with the V40(2018 fall flagship).

Well the catch with me is sprint wants 40 a month for the note 9, 18 for the note 8 refurbished and the v40 new is 20. So for finanacial sake the v40 is the better deal

It's amazing you found a salesman that recommends a LG product over a Samsung. They usually try to push everyone to Apple or Samsung. LG puts out some great phones. Save some money and go with the V40.

the sales guy is going to push where he gets the most comission and right now sprint reps make a pretty penny pushing any LG phone... trust me I know.

Unlike LG, Samsung has reps that go around training salesman at other companies and provide free Samsung products in exchange for always pushing their product.

LG makes good products, I primarily stick with Samsung because I enjoy the S Pen. So until the Note line flops it is my personal go to. If I could afford it I'd get the Note from Samsung and the V from LG.

At my T-Mobile store, the salesperson recommended the V40 but also said to take a look at the One Plus 6T. He had the V30+

Then as I was finishing the transaction, an LG rep came in the store (he was doing his "rounds" for his area) and asked me about why I picked the V40.

I chose the V40 because I like LG's UI better than Samsungs. Also for the band 71 because I traded in my S8+ (which I liked)

I bought a like new Sprint V40 for $331 shipped on eBay. That was after the 15% off coupon they had going then though. Still a great value at under $400 for a barely used flagship.
