Here's a new issue that I haven't seen reported (and only experienced today, as I'm at work) - apparently I don't have a data connection with the CM9 ROM. I can get phone calls (called my cell from my desk to check), but haven't gotten any new emails on the phone since I left home this morning. When I try and sync, it says no data connection. And since the roaming indicator is still on, I have no way of seeing whether I'm on 3G or 1X or what. At home I can connect to wifi (and I think that's what the phone is doing) but here at work, wifi is spotty at best. Anyone else noticed this problem? Any ideas for a fix? Thanks!

[edit] forgot to mention that it's not that I'm not getting emails, if you know what I mean - my desktop Outlook is extremely active. But none of them are showing up on the Vortex, which is frustrating as it's handy to see emails when I'm away from my desk.

I'm wondering if you were able to check the "notifications" section. I found it in google mail settings. I was not receiving email notifications either, but once I found this it works fine now. Just checked stock mail and found the setting also.

That was the first thing I checked (no pun intended) - I do get email notifications when I am in range of wifi, and the box is checked (I doublechecked just now). So it really does seem to be a data connection issue. Odd.

What did the installer say? Did it detect your model and base band correctly?

After flashing:

Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
model=76XXT
baseband=76XXT-6038-TSNCJPLYM

Install from sdcard complete.

That's the problem, you have a weird phone. :p I'll need to take that into account in the code.

Does anyone else have a different baseband string? You can just look in the about phone menu to check.

I had an idea and it seems to be working (although it scares me a little) - in settings, I doublechecked to be sure that data was turned on (which it is) and then noticed that the next option is Data Roaming - connect to data services when roaming. Which made me think hey, the Roaming indicator is on (even though I'm not roaming, or shouldn't be) so what if I check that box. It gave me a scary "this may cost you big bucks" message, but ever since then, even with wifi explicitly off, I am getting my email on the phone and can access the internet, etc.

So - scary fix, I guess. As long as I don't go anywhere that would REALLY be roaming, but I'll never know...:confused:

Really? Not the first time I have purchased a "weird" anything........... In the about phone it says LG-VS660 for Model Number however.

It is checked in my phone also. Has been for the last month and a half or however long I have been flashed to this. One billing cycle and it didn't register anything. If you read back, I think that is the work around to get data however.

I was joking. It's different than the os and ov that's all. It looks closer to the ot and p500.

This is the fix in CM7 also, had it like that for a long time now. There are no roaming charges ever. Most plans (voice and data) no longer have roaming charges at all anyway .

I've started using AOKP. I've gotta say. It's really good!
But customizations and the additional Nova Launcher discourages me; strange.
I don't exactly like the Nova, and therefore I use the stock launcher. Unfortunately, the stock launcher does not have customization settings. And if I want more settings for the Nova, I have to buy the Prime version. :'(
Guess I'm coming back to CM9.

BTW, is there a difference between the gapps(small).zip and gapps .zip that was just uploaded?

Use the small gapps. The large one won't fit. The only difference is that face unlock is removed, I believe. And we can't use it anyway.

And what does the Swagger option do? LOL
I also don't see a music app for AOKP.
In the apps managment, I do see MusicFX and...Unicorn Porn? O_O;

Rumor is that swagger does nothing, but I haven't actually verified in the code.

AOKP doesn't ship with a music app, you need to download one from the market. Or, if Apollo floats your boat, you could take Apollo.apk from the CM9 ROM and sideload it.

I believe UnicornPorn.apk is wallpapers (not naughty, just an amusing package name). But again, I haven't checked.

I hate to be noobish, but where is everybody getting AOKP for the Vortex? I'm googling and googling it and not finding it.

Also, will this build "Quattriumus" ever be updated?

Thanks!
