Android and Linux vs iOS and OS X

Hi,

I'm planning to make a switch but have a few questions:
- what do you use for photos? Something I could also work on PC (so no web solutions)
- sync contacts, calendars? (Google?)
- copy-paste between devices

Am I missing something? ;-)

Are you looking for photo management of editing?

For editing, the gimp is the program of choice; though there will be a learning curve.

For photo management, there is a plethora of choices. I'd start with what your OS flavour of choice gives you and then shop around, though I hear Shotwell and Digikam are popular.

For copy/paste between your phone and the computer, that is dependant on the integrated file manager. Again, each OS flavour tends to have their own.

My personal preference is for thunar when it comes to mass-renaming of media files (music), which comes with the xfce desktop.
