Play apps compatiblity

I have noticed recently that a lot of my apps are now listed as incompatible with my Bionic (Gummy 1.2) but if I download them via other resources, they work fine. Could someone explain what gives? and if there is anyway to 'trick' the market into allowing me to choose whatever I want to install and letting me worry about compatiblity?

If this is answered in a different thread I apologize in advance as I am not sure what to search.

I am having the same problem! Its very irritating. And I know other android users that ave the same game. What are the other places you install incompatible apps at? I would like to install them even if I can't use google play. :-\

You can change your build.prop to pretend you are on another device. Pick a popular one like a Nexus device, or SGS3 for best compatibility.
