Market APP update notifications

Is anyone else not receiving app update notifications from the Market? I have checked the settings within the market to ensure notifications are set to notify me when one becomes available however, still no go. In order for me to find out if there is an update for an APP, I have to go into the Market then, click on Downloads which now I can see an update is available for an application. I should be receiving that information automatically. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I havethis problem from time to time. Not sure why. It's sporadic

Here is why:


It will alert you if it's gone un-noticed for long enough.

So you checking your downloads page (probably daily) defeats the need for it to prompt you.

So it only prompts you if you've gone long enough without manually doing it.

Is the underlying question on google maps update? u just have to wait, I didn't get notification till about 8pm.

Whenever I go through my application list, I sometimes get notifications. Same with visiting the market place.
But when the update for MT came through, I didn't receive my update untill a day later at 18:00 last night.
