Maybe a price drop? Google (probably) isn't ever going to release it because no one wanted to pay $300 for one, given its very limited feature set.

No one is going to pay $300 for a device you got for free, and for something that is discontinued and will not see updates. You should sell it cheap to a developer who can in turn help those still with the device get more use out of it.
