New, never activated. I bought it from a guy that didn't tell me it was for Republic, in Denver. I had called Verizon to verify the MEID and they gave me the green light, well, it doesn't work on anyone but Republic. I bought it for $325, so now I understand they sell for $299 at Republic, so will ask $275. I am really hoping I don't get taken for anymore cash. Valuable lesson, don't always trust Verizon Reps. These use the Sprint Network, so may be able to be used on another carrier. Comes with the unactivated sim. Will take Paypal. Let me know if anyone is interested.

I understand what you're going through. The exact same thing happened to me at a Verizon location. Reps checked the device and said it was good to go. Handed the cash over and seller disappeared. Then the Reid said that the device was stolen. I really hope you can get back the money you lost. It's irritating that Verizon wouldn't own up for their mistake that ended up coming out of my pocket.

Did you recoup? There is a guy here that will buy them for $200, but I will then be out $125, not a big fan of that.

You can probably only use this on Republic, they have some sort of deal with Sprint, where you mostly use VoIP. That's how you get the super low price.

No. I didn't. Ended up buying a note2 on a line upgrade. Filed a police report but lost my $300.

Hold out for a while if possible. Post on swappa, rootzwiki, iMore. I've never heard of republic. But that might be a local wireless company for you. I really hour you get your money back. I'm sure you work hard for it. Like all of us do.

Sorry to hear that happened to both of you. OP, hopefully you can sell it and not lose a whole lot. Drop it on ebay, they go higher there but i hate all the ebay/paypal fees they tack on.

Thanks for the well wishes. I have it up here and on swappa now. I listed it locally, but Republic is in the Southeast, so may not be a big seller here. If I knew of a way to flash a different Moto X rom on it, I would possibly keep it.

Unfortunately, you have a $325 paperweight as RW doesn't allow reactivations so the the phone is only good to the initial owner/account and you can't just have it unlocked and use it on a gsm carrier because of the software. For this reason, Republic Wireless technically prohibits . Reactivations is on their short term road map but there's no ETA at the present time.

    20. Resale Prohibition. The Wireless Services are provided for Your use only. You may not under any circumstances resell or
offer to resell the Wireless Services. Any failure by You to comply with this Section 20 will constitute a Default pursuant to these Terms of Service without any applicable cure period. In addition to any other rights or remedies that Republic Wireless may have as a result of such Default, including, without limitation, termination of these Terms of Service, You also will be liable to Republic Wireless for any additional charges and/or damages which may be incurred by Republic Wireless as a result of any unauthorized resale or offer to resell.

Mods, please move this to sold. I had a guy locally that bought it for a greatly reduced price due to all this... :-( Live and learn, right?
