On the same settings as noted above you can set updates to be automatic.

If you leave it on overnight, go into settings and have it shut off wifi when in sleepmode. It take ten seconds to boot from off, why not just power it off and save your battery.

Just press the power button while the charger is plugged in and the Note is off and you will see the charge status on the screen.

Didn't your Note 10.1 come with Polaris Office? That app is capable of reading and writing Word, PDF, Powerpoint, and Excel files. It also works well with the S Pen. Everything you need to do what you are looking to do is already on your Note.

This is ok, but it does not use the capabilities of the S Pen. It is hard to believe that Samsung has not developed a drawing app that uses the S Pen.

I don't see a drawing app for the S Pen on my Note 10.1. S Note has no fully blank white page todraw on. What is a good free app that will work with the s pen to draw and create with?

Can you forward your Charter email to another email account? If so, just set up a Gmail account and forward everything to it.
