My HTC One M7 has the same issue. Phone calls work, but text messaging and music do not. Even through the USB connection.

I got it out of that and was finally able to get it to run. I had to run that utility twice to get it to update, but it finally went. I'm now on software version 3.15.651.16 710RD, Android 4.1.1! Still an update behind, but gaining ground! Thank you!!!!!!

Now an hour in, and still stuck on a black HTC screen. I think I'm in trouble.

It says it should take about 10 minutes, and it's been over 30 with no change. Should I get nervous yet?

Alright, game on! It is running. We'll see how this goes. haha

@BigDinCA, still no luck. lol@my phone. I can't even get it to connect with the sync manager. I'll try again on my computer at home though. I'm on an XP machine at work, I have Windows 7 at home. Hopefully that will help out some? @mstrblueskys, no upgrade options available looking there...

Wow, I can't even do that! The ROM Update Utility cannot connect to your Android phone. I think there is clearly something wrong with my device. Thanks again, but it appears more and more likely that I am doomed. lol

No luck. Thanks for trying though, I do appreciate it. I have a trouble ticket open with HTC. They had me try a couple of things, but want me to wait a couple of days to see if it will show up. Never mind that the Jellybean update from December still isn't available for me either. Ugh.

Sprint had me do something similar, ##72786#. Nothing really gained doing that I guess. Although I don't know if that was quite the same as what you are suggesting?

Factory reset done, still nothing available for updates. Um, what? What is jacked up with my phone that it is a couple of updates behind and just can't catch up?

Thanks for checking, it's greatly appreciated. I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and go for the full factory reset. If that doesn't work get it to recognize the available updates, I'm just going to steal my wife's phone because she doesn't care that there are updates. haha

I gave that a shot, but no luck. I've been holding out hope that I wouldn't have to reformat, but it's looking like I may have to. I never really like to just because my contacts are always such a mess between Exchange and Google. Oh well.

And just to annoy me even more, my wife updated her phone to the latest and greatest this evening. So the updates are definitely available here.
