If you do a factory reset from the power/vol- menu it just boots to your recovery. From inside the privacy menu... Think it would brick. Sent from my HTCEVOV4G

I'm on my second evo v... First one rebooted all the time or locked up requiring a battery pull. 2nd one is going on 48hrs without ANY issues... There definitely is some bad hardware floating around. Just give it a couple of days before unlocking and rooting. Radio shack exchanged without any...
