Well because they did not always release multiple versions of a smartphone simultaneously, at least when you want to get it from carrier operator. Let me clarify: in France you can get the phone "naked" without any carrier and pay the high price (in which case I guess that indeed both version...

I don't think the S8+ will be available in France at the same as the S8 so I might not have the required patience and end up with a S8 on day 1...

Does anyone know if the back cover will be made with the same glass as the S7 ? My GS7's back has been completely destroyed ever since its first drop from a few inches.. Something a bit more resistant would be appreciated !
