Yes... Go to the play store and uninstall the messages app. It won't actually uninstall it but uninstall updates. By then it should be fixed. Update the app again, it should still be working normally. Edit: you also won't lose any messages (from my experience)

I got the features this morning. I got a notification that there are new features. I'm still on firmware 550. I didn't use the APK. I guess they had to push the features to our phones.

That was definitely one of my concerns. After long thought I purchased the pixel buds and waiting on arrival at end of month. Also thinking about I have $30 earbuds, 2 30$ earbuds at work, and a few more at home that stopped working. So I have easily spent that money on cheap earbuds lol...

Finally I ended up doing the same. Returned the phone with best buy. Bought a pixel stand with the 100$ l... Leaving the rest for Black Friday. This was a rollercoaster
