I found another possible source of the random wake-ups. Not sure about the Zenfone 5, but on the Zenfone 2 there's a feature (on by default) which wakes the phone up if you tap on the screen twice. Which happens all the time if it's in my pocket. Or if it's in a bag bumping against things...
