I've never tried updating any other way besides the OTA method. We'll probably see it early next week.

Vertical is the way to go. I've been using a vertical drawer forever. I use Nova Launcher so I can configure it that way. But this is great for folks who don't mess with launchers.

I think it is only required if you try to turn it off from the lock screen. If your phone is already unlocked, you don't need a password or biometrics to turn it off.

I originally had picked out the special blue color and pre-ordered it. After I ordered it, I saw the color and thought it looked a bit too childish so I ended up going with the black. Can't go wrong with black.
