Doesn't this method only work until you reboot? Seems like a temporary solution.

My Sprint MotoX has very variant signals. I can sit in the same spot and see my wifi and phone signals go from 1-2 bars to 4 randomly. There is also the issue of choppy audio, but that is getting fixed in the next update.

You can turn off audio effects by going to Settings > Sound > Audio Effects and tapping the option off in the top right. Wireless display is turned off by going to Display and tapping Wireless Display to off.

You could try DashClock too. It has like 4 different styles for both rows.
