News If OPPO and OnePlus exit the foldable market, we're right back where we started

I have seen a few foldables over the last 2-3 years, and they all seem to have problems of some sort. My nephew paid a fair bit of money for a Samsung one and after just over a year, it would not unfold fully. I have seen others that have problems with the hinges or the screen. Nice idea, but...

News Nest Learning Thermostat could see a long-overdue refresh according to leak

i have something called passiv living, I had it installed by an energy supplier a few years ago and while it is not as advanced as nest or others, it does the job. I can program it via the app, or just use alexa to turn it on and off, which is the most useful. Used to be more useful when I...

News Google brings 911 RCS texting capabilities to Messages across the US

I am in the U.K and I don't think we have any SMS emergency services, so I doubt very much if the RCS version will come here., would it be trustworthy? Our emergency number is 999, that is from the days of the old dial phones, makes it easier to dial when it is dark. Also have 112, which is...

News Google's begins to strip away Fitbit's online store as integration deepens

I have a fitbit watch, I got it before Google decided to grab hold of them. the one advantage and the only one I see is the ability to use Google pay, which means my bank card works instead of me having to put my bank card onto a curve card and then the curve card onto my Fitbit watch. I like...

Google Messages might gain proper multi-device support

I use Textra, I have no need for RCS, really don't see the point in it. SMS is just for sending messages and that is what I use it for. I also like Textra because of the scheduling, very useful.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has me almost ready for a foldable

Not something I would buy, The weakest part is that hinge, my nephew has had a Samson flip for over a year, and it is still ok, but that fold is noticeable and to be honest would annoy me. As, I don't like Samsung phones. I would like a smaller phone this thing of having silly screen ratios...

Meta's Messenger Lite is finally ready to die

I prefer the lite version of Messenger, less of the rubbish that is in the full-blown version, rubbish I don;'t need or use. i use messenger to send the odd message to someone or to receive the odd message from someone, and that is it. I mainly use SMS, the only thing I use messenger for is some...

    older style phones

May have to get a new phone, I have a p10 lite at the moment which is playing up, anyway I had a look around, but they all seem to have a load of lenses on the back, a pinhole on the screen or notch for the front camera and some silly aspect ratio, are there any decently priced phones that are...

Sooooo...what's the next phone you are going to get?

I only had my phone for a few months, so not really into buying a new phone for a few years, I tend to keep my phones going for as long as i can. My one worry is that by the time I change phones, the dreaded notch will be on the majority of phones, maybe i should buy another new phone now and...
