yeah don't worry you're not crazy.. I was thinking the same thing yesterday after updating to 4.3 haha my gf's N4 hadn't been updated so I compared and yeah they did take away the clock on the lock screen. Quite an odd thing to remove.

I couldn't send/receive picture or video messages (MMS) until I put in my carriers Access Point Name settings. I just looked it up (Telus APN settings) and it I plugged in whatever ports and security settings and it worked. Perhaps you need to do the same with your carriers settings...
