I want a pure Android experience on Verizon!

I want a Nexus 5X because I want to finally have a good Nexus experience on Verizon!

I'm on a Verizon M8, and I've been using DigitalHigh's GPE ROM. He's been fast and consistent on updating it, and the ROM itself is super stable. I'm loving the fact that I'm on 5.1 right now. It's giving me a Nexus-like experience on Verizon.

Is this on AT&T's website or have you gone into a store? Stores often have the discounted prices for older handsets. Even if they don't, maybe talk to a store manager or call AT&T. Tell them you want to switch to their network, but you think it's ridiculous that they're charging the same price...

Yeah, most people don't dig too deep into the M8's camera settings. That's a shame because there's some pretty cool stuff in there.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan either. Lollipop's "interruptions" system doesn't allow specific-enough controls, IMO.

Unfortunately for you (and others that may not like it), this is the way Lollipop handles lock-screen notifications now. To my knowledge, there isn't anything you can do about it.* *unless there is some hack you can do via rooting or a custom ROM

I didn't know you could get burn-in on an LCD either. That's crazy. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to fix it. Those screen repair apps don't really do much for AMOLED screens either.

A GPE (Googe Play Edition) phone does not have an OEM skin (like Sense) on it. It is an almost-stock Android variation of the One M8. If you have Sense on your device, it is not a GPE model. No HTC phone running Sense has been updated to 5.1 yet. In fact, the One M9 that just released is "only"...

Have you (or any previous owners) altered anything? As long as you have the stock ROM and the stock recovery, you should get the OTA. Otherwise, go over the XDA and I'm sure you can find the RUU file for it.

Oh wow. So the 5.0.2 update that Sprint and AT&T have received still has Sense 6 but has the new Interruptions system? Interesting. I wonder if that update will push out to Verizon as well. Like Deathunter, my Verizon M8 is on 5.0.1 and still has the old DND mode.

No, this is part of Lollipop (as a whole, not just on the M8). It was like this on the M8 with Lollipop even before the Lock Screen update. There's no way to change it. Posted via the Android Central App
