I'm using Nova and Tesla and all badges are working with 5.1.0 apk for Tesla. I can swipe away notifications and the unread number still persists.

I'm guessing the update is too large for mobile data, in which case, I'm not sure without using someone else's phone as a hotspot.

I had an issue with email app not showing counts so I contacted developer who ended up sending me a 5.1.0 apk. Everything is working fine for me now.
