I may have been a little unclear there. What I meant was, the N6 picks its own shutter speed and uses image stabilization at its own discretion to obtain a slightly slower shutter speed, but it is frequently not a satisfactory decision made by a computer with no sense of the actual requirements...

No, you're right, it's pretty bad. My previous phone was a Nokia Lumia 1520, and the photos I got out of that spanked the Nexus 6 super easily. I do think a large part of it is the default app, though, and since Android 5.0 finally opened up the camera api, I'm hoping we'll get some apps that...
