When you use it you can say that you want it as credit. Sometimes that will make it easier so you don't have to guess or be forced to use debit. In regards to nfc I keep mine off. You can see in an above post, I used it at about 5 or so stores, as well as CVS and Circle K with nfc turned off...

I love using Samsung pay, but if you're going to take out the card anyway, why even go through the work to use the phone?

It's a credit card, so I used credit. I only had to hit credit on one of the machines though. The rest went through as credit automatically.

So went shopping today. I used it at Michael Kors, Old Navy, Rue 21, Walmart, Banana Republic, and Nike outlet store. All with NFC turned off. It worked on the first try each time.

I did not try it with nfc off. I'm gonna leave nfc off and try it next time at CVS and dollar general.

I just tried at a dollar general and it did not work either. Their machine even had the nfc payment symbol on it. My phone never beeped and the transaction would not process.

Yes, the machine said chip error. After the second error, it told the cashier to please help customer insert chip card. I will try turning my nfc off. I did not realize I could use Samsung pay if nfc was not on.

My Samsung pay will not work at CVS. It forces me to use the chip, even though I added my signature like others have suggested.
