I'm on Verizon in the US as well and I installed the update earlier today and it's right where it's always been.

I didn't get the notification until the 10th. Blew it off for a couple days until I started to see threads/articles about what it does. Installed it a few minutes ago. It did fail once and took me to the boot loader. Rebooted and it re-downloaded the update and installed normally. I have a...
