So instead of fixing the coulour banding present everywhere, they change the home screen wallpaper. That's literally it in the patch notes.

That's totally my issue. It's as if there isn't enough colour depth or something. There's gradient banding everywhere and crush all over the place. White balance is excellent for the first time, but everything else is just off.

I have 2 units and both have it. on has it along the left edge as yours does, and the other only at the top.

Yup, I just got mine and the banding is awful. Any dark colours are crushed and even gradients on normal colours are banding. I got my second today for my partner and hers is exactly the same.
