What's best for USB-C tablet charging?

Purchased the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 tablet. It came with a charging dock, and a USB-C/USB-A 2.0 cord for data transfer and charging when not using the dock. Without the dock, would a new USB-C AC charger be fastest? Would an AC cube for my existing USB-C/USB-A cable offer the same charging...

Pixel Stand with metal plate for magnetic mount

Interesting. I just held my Pixel 3 XL on the Koomus magnetic car mount, and it stayed up there while driving! Not sure how strong the naked hold will be in more severe driving, but I prefer a thin clear case over thicker opaque ones that can disguise an added metal plate.

android 8.0 update to nexus 6p

This 6P is on T-Mobile. 8.0 OTA came Tuesday evening. I hadn't received any security or OS updates since Dec 2016. After several phone calls to Google and T-Mobile, I learned if your device was purchased somewhere other than Google (this one's Best Buy), your mobile service company is...

SD card as adoptable internal storage not an option?

I've had some success. I think these newspaper, magazine, and video apps were installed before I bought an SD card, so I factory reset the Zenpad 10, reformatted the card, and then installed all apps. Looks like each app’s setting options dictate if it's media can be stored externally or must...

SD card as adoptable internal storage not an option?

Is it true that apps have to be internal storage? How is everyone using their external storage then? I bought the smaller 16 gig Z300M P00C, since sd cards can be formatted as adoptable internal storage in Marshmallow. The tablet's e-manual even says apps can be stored on the SD card (which I...

    Magnetic holder

Very happy with the low profile of the new Koomus magnetic holder. Very strong hold for Nexus 6P in the CandyShell Speck case. Posted via the Android Central App

    Wi-Fi Calling ... I need a simple answer (will it work on 6p with T-Mobile service ???)

I have the $30/100 min/5GB prepaid T-Mobile acct. Are minutes deducted on wifi calls? Do they have to adjust my acct for wifi calling on my unlocked Nexus 6P (once I change the phone settings)? Edited: On a 2nd call to T-Mobile I found out wifi minutes get deducted for all of their accounts...

    Magnetic holder

I want to continue using my Nexus 5 magnetic charger as just a 6P car mount, by adding a ferrous plate inside my Speck case. What are your recommendations of shape, dimensions, etc. for the disc to assure a strong hold without NFC interference? I will be sure to leave it directly below the...

    Android Wear Update!

Same here. But after resetting seemed to fix everything, when I ask OK Google anything (or tap for the "Speak now"), the screen only shows the working circle and then disconnects from the phone. I hope a fix is on the way. Edit: Fixed with the next day's update . Thanks Google.

Grayed-out WiFi button, continuous reboots, disappearing icons caused by T-Mobile app

Well, that was just too easy. Wilfi returned to being unavailable later that night, even in safe mode. Don't know if an app is responsible for this. I'll wait and see if 5.1 corrects the grayed-out wifi before replacing the phone. At least the constant rebooting and icon issues are gone. Until I...

    USB Reverse Tethering?

My issue wasn't with getting mobile data, it was only having mobile for Internet. Apparently the Connectify app will do USB reverse tethering I was looking for, in addition to other connectivity tasks. Here's where I found out about it. But, the better news is my wifi button is back. Turned...
