Bluetooth headset not controlling music player

Update. I tried it on a non-Samsung phone which is encrypted and that works fine. So, it's either an S3 issue or a Samsung issue. Could be the BT stack being interfered with somehow? Is there anything I can do to try and test out things? I'm OK to root the phone if needed (I'm sure the...

Bluetooth headset not controlling music player

It's the encryption. I had to encrypt the device to allow my corporate email through. That has broken the BT music controls. How do I fix that? Alan

Bluetooth headset not controlling music player

A complete wipe has cured it. Now I need to add things back until it fails again. One thing I just realised. The device was encrypted - which I did sometime in September. I wonder......

Bluetooth headset not controlling music player

I tried both the suggestions (deleting the BT device and clearing system cache) and it doesn't make any difference. Next thing, I guess is a complete wipe of the device. After that, I give up. Alan

Bluetooth headset not controlling music player

Thanks. I will try that. But, I also tried pairing it to my wifes Galaxy S3 and that does the same thing. Volume works, but music controls don't. Does anyone have a BT headset on an unmodified S3 where the music controls work? Alan Alan

Bluetooth headset not controlling music player

Sometime ago, I had a Samsung HS3000 headset and I could stop/start/pause/rewind/forward the standard music player. I then lost it (no idea how) and about a month later, I purchased another one. This one will not do some actions. I can play music through the headset and I can press the talk...

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

Yes, it's the major thing that is making me look for a new phone. I've fried 2 32gb cards and now rely on the internal memory alone. I wish there was a cure. Alan

Google Now question - how do I get my cards back?

Occasionally, I swipe up from the bottom and this Google Now stuff appears. All good so far. However, if I swipe a card off (for example, the stocks one), there doesn't seem to be any way to get it back. So, how do you do it? I've been in the settings and it SHOULD be showing it. But it...

    accessing external drives

You also need to either root your device or install something like Nexus Media Importer (from the Play store) which will enable the USB port for reading/writing. Also, you can't necessarily read external drives which pull too much power - like USB powered hard disks. But it will do USB flash...

Apps that don't work on the Nexus 7

It is only supported on specific Samsung phones. If you have one of those, you can download it, find the .APK file and install that on your Nexus 7. Alan
