Nexus 6P Bending and Breaking Thread

Re: 6P bend and scratch test, not good viewing! Actually, that's how Mohs scale is supposed to work. If a material is scratched by an other material that is rated 7 on the Mohs scale, then your material is under 7 for sure. No point to test 8 or 9 which will risk to brake it.

Nexus 6P Bending and Breaking Thread

Re: 6P bend and scratch test, not good viewing! Some old Vertu phones use saphir glass for the screen. So they will hold up until above 9. Other than that, no. All gorilla glass screen are under 7 of hardness on the Mohs scale and it's the same for the actual iPhone's screens.

Nexus 6P Bending and Breaking Thread

Re: 6P bend and scratch test, not good viewing! This test is plain stupid. Gorilla Glass is officially rated 6.5 -6.8 on the Mohs scale. What's the point to test it for a 8 or a 9 ? Other than brake it, there is no reason to do that (especially if you see that a 7 scratch it... which is...

On Reddit, he has provided some complementary informations about that : * He use the phone at 90% brightness * He uses Spotify a lot.

    6P - Let's talk battery expectations

Even controlled tests of battery life like the one of PhoneArena will lead to inconsistent results. For example, both PhoneArena and Arctechnica test battery life with an auto-refreshing script with the screen set at 200nits. But because they don't use the same script, their results are really...

    Nexus 6p 4k sample

Seriously, don't expect too much from 4K video recording in terms of stabilization on the 6P. I'm pretty sure EIS won't work with 4K video because there is not enough pixels in the sensor. Basically, EIS uses pixels outside the border of the visible frame to provide a buffer for the motion and...

    6P vs Lumia 950 XL

It seems to be the same heatpipe that was found in the Z5 Premium recently. It's not actually like if they were using watercooling :-) In fact, I'm pretty sure that it's now a part of the S810's recommended integration by Qualcomm to prevent the SoC being as warm as it usually does.

Material Covering the 6p Camera Lens?

The black bar is not covered by plastic but with gorilla glass 4. Same for the front and rear camera ;-). It has been told by google's engineers on Reddit.

    6P Review and Annoyance

They talk about contrast so I will assume that they talk about adaptative display. Plus, all other sites I have seen have measured the Note 5 at around 450 nits Max manual and more than 600 nits at maximum auto-brightness boost so, 470 nits seems pretty low. Add to this that measurements will...

    6P Review and Annoyance

If you read carefully, you will see that PA and DM found fairly close results for 100% manual birghtness (402-512 vs 470 nits as far as I remember). The 800nits from the DM review is what they found when putting the phone on auto-brightness under very high ambient birghtness. And that's because...

New geekbench scores have different results ( still very good)

I think you are right. I just checked and the One M9 is also registred as a 1.55Ghz devices. In that case, the 6P scored pretty poorly.

New geekbench scores have different results ( still very good)

I'm still not sure these results are reliable because Geekbench report a maximum frequency of 1.55Ghz while it's clearly states by the Google Store that the device will run at a Max frequency of 2.0Ghz (30% higher). Even if these results are actually really from a Nexus 6P, it's still clearly...

Is 7.3mm the thickness of the thickest part?

I'm not sure that you can do that. At least in Europe, I think it's considered like false advertising and you have to make clear the dimension of the thickest part.

    Nexus 6P - Camera Discussion

Because DxOMark don't buy devices, they just wait for OEM to sent them one and somtimes they wait à lot (exemple : Note 4)

Anandtech's Reviews of the Mi Note Pro : http://www.anandtech.com/show/9386/the-xiaomi-mi-note-pro-and-mi-note-review/2 "with the Mi Note Pro it is increasingly evident that the Snapdragon 810 causes a noticeable regression in battery life"
