Ok after a bit of digging i somehow managed to fix the issue partially, in that if someone on whatsapp messages me multiple times I'll get all the notifications, UNLESS it's a group chat. Discord is totally broken though. Still not entirely sure why.

I'll have to keep a factory reset in mind as a last ditch effort, but so far the only real idea I've had is to set up notification reminders for the apps I use. A bit of an annoyance though. I've fully enabled all notifications on both WhatsApp and discord and nothing has been fixed. Rather...

Yeah I guess that's what I'm looking for. I would like to have the different messages from the same app give me an alert or vibration when I receive them, rather than just the first one. I have no booster apps installed, the s9 is basically stock because I bought it about three days ago.

The only other app i use frequently when I'm talking to people is Discord (basically Skype) and I just tested it to the exact same result. My phone went off after the first message, but I wasn't aware of the next two until I checked my notifications. Not sure about safe mode, but I'll look...

OP here. Thats really odd that mine is acting differently. My discord and WhatsApp as far as ive seen only notify me on the first message. I dont have them open at the time, and all the new messages APPEAR when I go to check the original notification, but im never alerted about them.
