I agree, Peter. It's not something I have been able to solve with custom launchers. It looks like the notification bar has a large block of empty space attached to the bottom of it, effectively pushing everything down. Very annoying.

Indeed. I want the same. I made a few attempts, but even though I got a custom recovery on there (tried both CWM and TWRP) and got Superuser installed, the Lollipop ROM wouldn't recognize root properly so it didn't work.I could grant root access to apps, but the system didn't care and denied...
