Today I stumbled upon the solution: "settings > accessibility > mute all sounds" . Selecting it yields a crossed-out loudspeaker button fixed to the right border of my homescreen. Tap it > all sounds off, tap again > all sounds on.

Easy Export/Import with DuckDuckGo, too, like with Brave (see #9).!Just imported my bookmarks exported from Brave to DuckDuckGo, no problem.

@Sizzers : How to split screen with Brave on my Anddroid tablet, please? With Chrome I just tap "2nd window" in the menu to the right.. I could not figure out yet how to do it with Brave. Leo could not help either :-(

Found it online: type e.g. http://www.google.fr/search?q=%s into the address line type in yor search (don't bother about "%s", just delete it)
