Most definitely! I'm willing to change the battery and give this a try, but found that this same issue has been plaguing a few other S7 users as well after the last update and others with phones exhibiting the same symptoms have changed the battery and the phones have remained unresponsive...

Yes and yes! The battery has never given me any trouble prior to this though, no overheating and it lasted me close to a whole day with my usage.

I do have most of the data backed up, but was keeping some things just on the phone, which wasn't such a great idea in hindsight. I just never expected it to stop working out of the blue, all my old android phones still work almost a decade later. Thanks for the suggestions regardless!

Would a repair centre be able to pinpoint what component failed after running a diagnostic? Also would running a diagnostic be expensive?

I have and nothing works! What does the blinking led light mean? I just wanted to try rebooting the phone as it was on a boot loop, or if that didn't work try getting it into download mode, but the screen just went black with only the led flashing. Does the whole motherboard have to be replaced...

My S7e (Exynos) suddenly stopped working after an overnight update. At first it was stuck on a boot loop, I tried to force reboot it (vol down + power) and the screen went black, with only the blue led light blinking. Eventually that died out as well and now the phone is an unresponsive state...

Does Play Services drain your battery almost as much as your screen does? The same thing kept happening to me as well and after having spent ages scouring the internet for a solution, a work around or just about anything that would enable me to use for my phone for a normal amount of time...
