Also, the phone still stores Dalvik cache and normal cache on the phone, which builds up over time. Thats one of the reasons you're supposed to clear both before you flash a rom.

Or that he didn't have the back cover on correctly? I read on ac that you have to push the back down a specific way for the rubber ring to seal to make it waterproof.

Are you pushing the camera button to select? When i was first learning how to do this i kept pushing the home button thinking it was the buttton i was supposed to push.

You can't install a .img file through the recovery. You need an app like Flash Image GUI but i think thats a paid app. If you google it there might be a free app that does the same thing.

if you can boot into the phone it's not bricked. But i have no suggestions on what to do. Hope you fix it. and why can't you backup to your sdcard?

Lol, is your bootloader unlocked? and did you install a custom recovery?

My suggestion would be find someone with a standard s4 and root and have them use astro or another file manager to back up the app apk's that are special to the s4. then just put the apk's on your sdcard and install them on the device. Of corse things like that will only work with things like...
